Health Economics
One key research activity is Health Economics,
which is based on three strands:

Pharma Economics (reimbursement and pricing, cost-containment, innovations, price research, e-pharma) |
| > |
Expenditure and Financing (health-economic evaluation, cost-benefit analysis, financial flows in health care)
|
| > |
Health Care Systems (comprehensive knowledge on all EU Member States, Candidate Countries, and the USA)
|
Contact us (HealthEconomics@oebig.at) if you need consulting, evaluations or studies to answer your pharma-economic and health-economic questions.

> up-to-date, reliable and independent information
> on the prices of pharmaceuticals
> in the 15 EU Member States
> at all price levels.
Health Care Planning
This field of activities deals with fundamental research and planning of all sub sectors of the health care system. It focuses on available and necessary capacities, regarding
> hospital beds (by discipline),
> physicians (by discipline),
> biomedical equipment and > specialized medical services (such as transplantation centres or dialysis facilities).
This field also addresses organizational aspects of networking and coordination of services and facilities in an attempt to achieve the "fully-integrated healthcare system". A special focus has therefore been placed on jointly planning inpatient and outpatient care. Investigation in this field especially examines interrelations of these two sectors.
Health care planning includes activities concerning the Austrian hospital and biomedical equipment plan (ÖKAP/GGP), which will be further developed to become a plan of inpatient medical services and procedures. This plan will also comprise the fields of outpatient care, rehabilitation and nursing care in the near future. |
